After a hectic few months in London this break came at the right time. This was my first time visiting Barbados and it was an experience i will never forget.
Arrived at Grantley Adams International and was immediately greeted by a great Bajan welcome from Sandy Lane and we were taken straight to our hotel stress free after a long flight.
Driving through the gates you know its going to be a memorable trip. We were greeted into the beautiful all marble reception overlooking the sea nothing but calm and paradise ahead of us for the next seven days. We were given cold eucalyptus towels (life) and non alcolhic cocktails while greeted by the friendly and helpful staff.
A major culture shock from a cold December in London.
We checked into our Orchid Room which was located on the ground floor overlooking the tropical gardens and the ocean along with a patio the size of my house just a few steps to the beach and the sound of the ocean. The room was spacious equipped with a dressing room and large bathroom but still kept that homely feel and of course had marble everywhere.
After a refreshed first night sleep and a substantial room service order we were refreshed and ready for a week of relaxation at its finest...
Breakfast is always my favourite meal of the day and Bajan Blue hit the spot.. along with my soya latte which will keep me functioning throughout my tough day of beach, pool and book desicions.
The breakfast spread was of course stunning from a variety of everything a person could want to kick start there morning. There was a fresh juice bar combined with a large mix of fruit and vegetable juices. As you can see I tried to be healthy but the temptation got me.. what started with a bagel alongside granola yogurt turned into full fat english breakfasts and croissants as the days went on WHEN IN ROME...😁
Arriving at night meant that we had yet to see our surroundings, we went for a walk to see everything the hotel had to offer which defs did not disappoint.

if you are flower obsessed Andromeda Gardens is a must see. Located in the parish of St Joseph. The flower forest was discovered by Iris Bannochie along with her husband. Everything you see is a collection of different plants from tropical and sub tropical destinations. Iris left Andromeda Gardens to Barbados national trust to continue the legacy.
