WERE GOING PLACES
In the heart of the kings road, Chicama offers a new innovative twist into Peruvian cuisine. The design and overall ambiance of the space, creates a relaxed chilled vibe when entering, allowing the restaurant to cater for every type of guest. Options are endless, Where do we begin? With a cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc perhaps? after a long day in the office we were starve and wanted to try a variety of options from each section...
crispy confit sea bass rolls, brown crab mayo
The rolls were everything expected, the sea bass to perfection along with the crunch and the combination of the brown crab mayo hit the spot. Perfect start to the meal. An ideal choice of snack as its the right amount.
Mushroom Gyoza, fermented yuca ponzu
HEAVEN IN YOUR MOUTH
We all know what a struggle it can be to order a perfectly cooked gyoza. Chicama have excelled in the GYOZA! literally creating heaven in your mouth. The texture of the mushroom mixed within the gyoza creates a soft texture which leaves you wanting more.....
WE ORDERED ONE MORE!
We are definitely a small plate type of crowd, rather than a main dish, as we like a variety of options, rather than having to choose just one! SOOO we ordered a substantial amount of small plates which we would highly suggest as this was our favourite part of the Chicama experience.
This Yellow Tail Ceviche is possibly the best we've ever tasted!
TUNA TATAKI TIRADITO
SMOKED AJI AMARILLO TIGERS MILK, PASSION FRUIT, CUCUMBER HUACATA
every mouthful was sensational with the combination of passion fruit and tigers milk with the fresh tuna tataki. Another perfect dish... A must have!
For your main dish, Chicama offer a variety of catch of the day from sea bass, sea bream, monkfish and plaice. We of course had to try one and went for the monkfish which was recommended to us. You can decide between a choice of avocado jalapeño, amarillo pineapple and smoked aji panca to compliment your dish. Fish is served on the bone, so we would suggest having it de boned prior. We had this with a side of spicy black rice which is a must.
THIS ONE WASN'T FOR SHARING
To the left 👈🏽 Banana and yuzu ice cream, torched meringue, coconut. To the right 👉🏼whipped chocolate, chocolate crumb and raspberries.
what a way to end this meal! Dessert still tasted refreshing and not too heavy but still had that rich texture. We would highly recommend both dishes as both are different but flavoursome.
Chicama left us feeling full but in a good healthy way! All of the food was created in front of you, using fresh ingredients not leaving you feeling like you've just eaten a house 🏠
Don't take a trip to the kings road without eating at Chicama
